Branch Election & Activism Workshop

The branch meeting will be covering two exciting topics - electing the team to lead the branch for the next year as well as an activism workshop to help decide the priorities for the branch.

 

Following our WE Party constitution the following roles will be elected at the branch meeting. If you wish to nominate yourself (this includes those in the roles currently if they wish to stand again) please submit 150 words describing why you believe you are a good fit, including what you would do in the role and any relevant experience. Please send these to - [email protected] by 9:00am 12/09/17. At the meeting please be prepared to present this to the branch before the vote.

Branch Leader:

Main point of contact for central office, work with Comms, Data Manager, Treasurer and Branch Secretary (steering committee) to enable smooth running of branch. Responsible for ensuring central office policies are followed and branch reflects the aims of the party. Lead on understanding what local campaigns are required, developing these with the team and partners. Support data manager using NationBuilder (NB) analytics to support campaigns and grow branch. Represent the branch when required. With the steering committee set meeting agenda, branch calendar, events, social media campaigns. Work with fundraising and membership volunteers to hit branch targets. Attend Central office training / webinars. Around 15hrs per month

Data Manager:

Administrator of branch member database on NationBuilder. ‘Point Person’ for all LCR Members and
Supporters. Email through NB. Provide membership analytics for campaigns and membership drives. During
campaigns produce walk sheets and input results. Attend Central office training / webinars. Around 10hrs per month

Comms Manager:

Manage social media Facebook & Twitter inline with central office guidance maintaining WE voice. Work with
Data Manager to ensure emails via NB to branch reflect social media posts and WE voice. Attend Central office training / webinars. Around 15hrs per month

Treasurer:

Account keeping, final decision on spending of funds, compliance (Electoral Commission, central office), risk assessments. Attend Central office training / webinars. Around 10hrs per month

Branch Secretary:

Responsible for branch calendar including meeting invites, minute taking and distribution. Around 8hrs per month

All descriptions and time commitments are guidelines only, these can change e.g. if the branch is in election mode. Please let us know if you require any further detail or clarification on the roles or wish to have a conversation regarding them.
