Our women targeting Westminster

Our all-women list of parliamentary candidates are the first ever to stand for the Women’s Equality Party. 

Where WE are not fielding candidates, WE are looking to forge alliances that will deliver to Westminster a cohort of MPs committed to our values of equality, diversity and inclusivity.

We have endorsed candidates from other parties where that candidate shares our values, and will work toward our goal of bringing about gender equality.

WE are doing politics differently – WE are non-adversarial, non-partisan, happy to work with other political parties to achieve our aims, and for them to steal our policies in order to implement them.  

Our candidates will not have to take a party line on issues outside our seven core objectives, which are:

• WE are pushing for equal representation in politics, business, industry and throughout working life.

• WE expect equal pay and an equal opportunity to thrive.

• WE are campaigning for equal parenting and caregiving and shared responsibilities at home to give everyone equal opportunities both in family life and in the work place.

• WE urge an education system that creates opportunities for all children and an understanding of why this matters.

• WE strive for equal treatment of women by and in the media.

• WE seek an end to violence against women.

• WE are working for equality in healthcare and medical research to ensure better health outcomes and access and provision of treatment and support.
